Welcome from Wāginä
Hi there friend.
Please let me start out by saying, Thank You.
The support and positive feedback that I have received about my Shamanic Drums has been quite overwhelming.
I never had imagined in million years, that so many people would like my drums as much as they do and would want to own their own Australian made Shamanic Drum.
For this, I am truly honoured.
“I am putting this overwhelming support down to spirit.”
I only build my drums in ceremony and trust me, from the support that I have seen over the last 3 years, the allure to ‘mass produce’ my drums and just have lots of them lying around for sale was really tempting due to the demand that I have received.
I then thought about this and realised that my drums are so popular because of the fact that I honour each and everyone of them and hold ceremony for each drum and their new owners. That is the way that I have been making drums since day one and I am not going to change that, regardless of how popular or in demand my drums are. So to everyone that is on my waiting list, I sincerely share some wisdom that has helped me over the years:
"Everything comes to you at the right moment. Be patient."
I have quite a lot of people ask me all the time: “How do I buy one of your Shamanic Drums?” and I normally send them an email explaining how to go about it, so to allow clear communication about the ordering process, I will post it up here so that you can hopefully get some answers to your questions.
About my Shamanic Drums...
Just thought I’d take the time to have a quick chat about my Shamanic Drums. I hope it answers some questions.
Drum Vibrational Alignment Ceremony...
Hangin out with the local magpies, as I perform a Vibrational Alignment on the materials before we begin the build.
In the local scrub...
In the local scrub just looking for some sticks to make drum beaters with.
As I mentioned above, I don’t have drums lying around for sale as I build them in ceremony and each drum is built for the owner specifically; this meaning that the vibrations (or purpose) of the drum, and the owner align.
I now offer three sizes of Drums.
14″ Australian Shamanic Drum (which is approximately 36cm in diameter)
8″ Australian Shamanic Drum (which is approximately 21cm in diameter)
18″ Australian Ceremonial Shamanic Drum* (which is approximately 46cm in diameter)
*Limited Numbers Built Each Year.
I have always offered the 14″ Shamanic Drum since I began building drums but have recently introduced the 8″ Shamanic Drum which is the perfect size for travelling. I have had a lot of feedback and requests for a smaller sized drums; especially for kids and my international friends. The 14″ and 8″ drums are built the same way, same ceremonies and rituals, just the size is different.
I have also had a lot of requests for Ceremonial Drums. These drums take a long time to build as they not only have the ceremonies administered that the 14″ and 8″ drums receive, but in addition – also participate in land and ancestral ceremonies before they are passed onto you. As you could imagine – this takes considerable time.
All of my drums are wrapped with a Kangaroo Hide and include an Adventurer Drum Beater. The all receive a birth certificate that will have a message on it that I have received during the birthing process. For the drum beater, I go ‘walkabout’ into the scrub looking for the stick lying on the ground that can be repurposed into a Drum Beater for your drum. I really enjoy this part of the build, as you can see in the video above .
About my Drum Hoops
My hoops are steam bent Cedar and their availability varies depending how many orders are placed and what I have in stock.
At the moment for the for the 14″ and 8″ drum you are looking at approximately 14-16 weeks from the time you make full payment, to the delivery of your drum.
The reason for the wait is that I can only perform certain parts of the build under the particular weather conditions and perform the ceremonies under the appropriate moon alignments.
I would love to be able to get your drum to you in a few days and in this day and age where products and services are at our fingertips 24/7, reading that getting your drum may take a few months may make my drum building process seam archaic or out of date.
Let me assure you, as you get to know me you will realise that I like to do things the traditional way, the ceremonial way. Rome wasn’t built in a day, my friend and all good things come to those who wait.
I hope you can understand.
I take full payment for the drum before I start building them; due to the fact that once I begin the ceremony to build your drum for you, it can only be for you.
Shamanic Drum Bags
We now offer drum bags in a range of beautiful fabrics. All of the drum bags are designed and handcrafted in Tasmania by Kirsten.
Each bag is crafted using inspiration from The Aboriginal Dreamtime with fabric designs created by Indigenous Australians. The bags are constructed using a range of contrasting colours that reflect both nature and the Dreamtime story woven in thread.
Each bag is not only a story in itself, but designed to hold and carry the rhythm of our own story that drums through us.
Each bag is made with love amidst the beauty of Tasmanian native forests, bird song and under the long shadows of Kunanyi – Mt Wellington. Here are some of the fabrics you can choose from (All sourced from commissioned sites so that the Aboriginal artist receives the benefits also).
Please note: These images are for design purposes only, some fabric colours may vary from what is displayed here and are subject to availability.
The bags are held in ceremony and are made to order. Just choose the fabric design you want and size of your drum.
18″ Shamanic Drum Bag – $185
14″ Shamanic Drum Bag – $160
8″ Shamanic Drum Bag – $145
Please Note: If you are ordering a Shamanic Drum Bag ONLY then shipping will be an additional $30 to anywhere in Australia (sent by Australia Post).
18" Ceremonial Shamanic Drums
I have also started to build 18″ Ceremonial Shamanic Drums.
These 18″ Ceremonial Shamanic Drums take up to 12 months to build and I can only build a very limited number of these drums a year.
Reason being, is the hides needed to wrap an 18″ Ceremonial Shamanic Drum need to be enormous and I only see a limited number of these very, very large hides a year.
The 18″ Ceremonial Shamanic Drums are $850.
Arnhem Land Ceremonial Drums
I have been guided by my spiritual team to once a year during the dry season (winter time) I take a very special trip to Arnhem land especially to hold ceremony and build sacred drums.
While I am there, I only make a handful of these 14 and 18 inch Ceremonial Drums all on the land and in Ceremony.
You can be the owner of one of these sacred items by ordering today and I will deliver it to you upon my return from up north.
(Approx. August/September 2022)
14” Arnhem Land Ceremonial Drum – $1250
18” Arnhem Land Ceremonial Drum – $1950
I would like to firstly acknowledge the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the lands on which I administer Ceremony and pay my respects to Indigenous Elders past, present and emerging. Sovereignty has never been ceded. This always was and always will be, Aboriginal land.
I want to recognise the past atrocities against Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples of this land, and that Australia was founded on the genocide and dispossession of First Nations people.
I would also like to acknowledge that colonial structures and policies remain in place today and recognise the ongoing struggles of First Nations people in dismantling those structures. The struggle to seek justice, to remember and address this nation’s past is ongoing and is a necessary requirement for individual and collective healing process.
